Nevada man hurt in motorcycle crash in Vernon County

— A resident of Nevada, Mo., suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident at 3:50 p.m. Thursday on 1200 Road, six miles northwest of Nevada in Vernon County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Gilbert G. Patrick, 30, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

Patrick was riding a southbound motorcycle that overturned in the roadway when he attempted to make a U-turn, the patrol said.

• A Webb City man suffered serious injuries in a three-vehicle accident at 1:05 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 49, a mile south of Milo in Vernon County, the state patrol said.

John M. Hutchison, 59, was flown by medical helicopter to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

Hutchison was driving a northbound pickup truck in the southbound lane of I-49 and struck a car driven by Courtney A. Fischer, 19, of Tarkio, head-on. Fischer’s car then struck a southbound pickup truck driven by Nicholas D. Abuhl, 21, of Grandview, the patrol said.

• A Seneca teenager was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 12:50 a.m. Thursday on Coyote Drive, five miles south of Joplin in Newton County, according to the patrol.

Brock H. Dodson, 17, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the state patrol said.

Dodson was driving a southbound pickup truck that ran off the road and overturned, the patrol said.

• A woman from Liberal was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Northwest 160th Lane, four miles north of Mindenmines in Barton County, the state patrol said.

Sabrina R. Wolf, 18, was taken to Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan.

She was driving a northbound car that ran off the road and overturned, the patrol said.
