Girard man faces bank robbery charge in Mississippi

GIRARD, Kan. — A Girard man has been taken into custody on a charge that he robbed a bank last week in Mississippi.

Girard police and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle Monday afternoon and arrested Marvin Webb, who lives at 201 S. Western St. in Girard, on a warrant issued in Mississippi for armed robbery.

Girard police Chief Jeff McDonald said in a news release that Webb, age not available, is accused of robbing a bank Friday in Tunica, Miss. He remained in custody Tuesday at the Crawford County Jail in Girard pending extradition to Mississippi.
