Pittsburg man faces theft charge

PITTSBURG, Kan. — A report of a fight in progress early Wednesday in an apartment complex parking lot in Pittsburg led to the arrest of a man in a theft case.

Pittsburg police said officers were called at 3:01 a.m. to a parking lot at 1116 Elm St., where they found several people engaged in a dispute. Investigation of the matter reportedly led to the discovery of two cellphones in the pockets of a man and a car stereo in his waistband, all of which allegedly had been taken from cars in the parking lot.

Inyama Ambeyi, 19, 420 E. Jefferson St., was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and single counts of theft and criminal trespass, police said.
