Carl Junction shooting victim said he was robbed and shot

JOPLIN, Mo. — A gunshot victim told Joplin Police he was getting out of his vehicle in a parking lot at convenience store Monday when he was robbed and shot.

Joplin Police have released the identity of the victim. Shane Reeves, 40, Carl Junction, is listed as being in stable condition at Freeman Hospital West today, according to a police statement.

Police were called at 11 a.m. Monday to the Horton Pizza Plus store, 1302 Schifferdecker Ave., where a man had asked that 9-1-1 be called. Police said the man was in critical condition from a gunshot wound when they arrived.

Investigators are looking at leads in the probe today. No arrests have been made.
