Joplin police are investigating a rape of a 35-year-old woman on Oct. 3.
The woman reported the rape Sunday, according to police Cpl. Chuck Niess. Niess said she told police that a male acquaintance had forced himself on her in her home in north-central Joplin.
She was taken to Freeman Hospital West, where a rape kit was conducted, and the case remains under investigation, Niess said.
