Police arrested a Louisiana man after the discovery Wednesday of a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a Joplin motel.
Police Cpl. Chuck Niess said an officer was checking the license plates of vehicles in the parking lot of the Budget Inn at 1822 W. Seventh St. and located a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado that had been reported stolen in Louisiana.
The officer reportedly tied possession of the truck to a guest of the motel, Tommy E. Kendall, 48, of Jones, La., who was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and obstruction. Niess said the defendant initially provided the officer with an incorrect name.
