Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 8:45 p.m. Sunday on 13th Street, three miles east of Duquesne in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The driver of the vehicle, Brooke N. Lee, 37, of Carl Junction, and her passenger, Betty D. Ramer, 38, of Joplin, were taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the state patrol said.
Their eastbound vehicle ran off the right side of the road, the patrol said.
• Four people were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 4:05 p.m. Sunday on Missouri Highway 37, three miles west of Pierce City in Lawrence County, the state patrol said.
Two passengers in the vehicle, Neoma L. Butler, 48, and Michael D. Carter, 35, both of Pierce City, were flown by medical helicopter to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, the patrol said. Two other passengers, Juanita L. Ray, 43, and Shania Ray, 13, also both of Pierce City, were taken to Cox Monett Hospital.
Their northbound vehicle, driven by James L. Ray, 33, of Wentworth, ran off the road and overturned, throwing two of the passengers from the vehicle, the patrol said.
• A Webb City man was injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car at 4:49 p.m. Friday at the intersection of 21st Street and Pearl Avenue, according to a Joplin Police Department report.
Timothy A. Madl, 33, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West, the police report said.
Madl was riding a westbound motorcycle that collided with a southbound car driven by Amanda N. Henderson, 26, of Joplin, the report said.

A 59-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to sexual abuse of a developmentally disabled 8-year-old girl in Joplin. Robert L. Newton pleaded guilty in Jasper County Circuit Court to first-degree statutory rape, first-degree statutory sodomy and felony failure to appear in court in a plea agreement with the prosecutor’s office.

A suspect accused of trying to run down two Joplin police officers with a sport utility vehicle early Sunday was winged in an arm and hand when the officers shot at him in response, police said. Brandon J. Knoderer, 32, underwent surgery Monday at a Joplin hospital to remove bullet fragments from his right arm and left hand.
