A 19-year-old Joplin man has been charged with felony counts of tampering with a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

Police arrested Kaleb F. Gudgen for alleged possession of a stolen car Thursday at Springview Garden Apartments in the 1700 block of West 23rd Street. Cpl. Chuck Niess said Gudgen is accused of taking the car overnight from the home of Steven R. Duncan on West 14th Street without Duncan’s permission.

Niess said a pipe containing methamphetamine allegedly was found in Gudgen’s possession after he was arrested.
