El Dorado Springs man facing charge in home burglary

WEBB CITY, Mo. — A rural El Dorado Springs man is facing a burglary charge in connection with a break-in Sunday at a home in Webb City.

A probable-cause affidavit filed in Jasper County Circuit Court says that Raelynn Willis and Dustin Shipman returned home and interrupted Bill J. Killebrew, 36, in the act of stealing their video gaming system. Killebrew tried to flee but was stopped and arrested a short time later.

The affidavit states that a screen had been cut to gain entry to a sun porch and a window had been pried open to access the interior of the home.

A shotgun the occupants kept in a bedroom had been placed by the front door as another item the intruder apparently intended to steal, the document says.

Killebrew was charged Monday with second-degree burglary. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released pending an initial court appearance.
