Police make arrest after early-morning Pittsburg robbery

PITTSBURG, Kan. — A suspect has been apprehended after an early-morning robbery at Bo's One Stop, 1116 W. Fourth St., according to the Pittsburg Police Department.

Officers responded to the convenience store at 12:46 a.m. today after receiving a report of a robbery. According to Pittsburg Police Department Major Brent Narges, the store clerk and witnesses reported a white male brandished a handgun and demanded money from the store clerk, taking an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving the building and traveling east.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Pittsburg police officers and Crawford County deputies conducted an extensive search of the area but were not able to locate the suspect immediately. An image of the suspect was obtained from the store’s video surveillance system.

At 8:08 a.m. today, an officer was in the 500 block of N. Warren and observed a male fitting the description of the robbery suspect.

Lucas Eugene Blaine Hollingsworth, 24, of Pittsburg, was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail and booked on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and theft.

The investigation is ongoing.
