AIRPORT DRIVE, Mo. —
A suspect nabbed in possession of numerous narcotic pills believed stolen in a June 26 break-in at Stone’s Corner Pharmacy has been charged with the crime, along with an alleged accomplice.
The Jasper County prosecutor’s office filed burglary charges Wednesday against Shannon D. Albright, 28, of Webb City, and David W. McCool, 22, of Joplin.
Albright was arrested June 27 when he fled a traffic accident near 20th Street and Schifferdecker Avenue and allegedly discarded a backpack containing more than 1,900 pills. He was charged at that time with possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute but not the burglary.
New probable-cause affidavits filed in Jasper County Circuit Court allege that Albright admitted to investigators that he used a crowbar to break into the pharmacy and that McCool admitted assisting Albright by planning the crime, serving as a lookout and setting a small fire as a distraction.
