Icy road cited in injury accident just north of Joplin

A 20-year-old woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:20 a.m. Thursday on Peace Church Road, a mile north of Joplin in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Kaitlin G. Morris, of Joplin, was taken to Freeman Hospital West, the state patrol said.

Morris was driving an eastbound car that crossed the centerline and struck a westbound pickup truck driven by Jamie R. Brandon, 39, of Joplin, when Morris lost control of her vehicle on ice, the patrol said.
