A Purdy man was killed in a one-vehicle accident at 7:02 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 44, two miles west of Halltown in Lawrence County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Larry D. Hall, 55, driver of a pickup truck, was pronounced dead at the scene by Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin. The body was received by Lakin Funeral Home.
The patrol said the eastbound vehicle left the road and struck a guardrail. The driver was thrown out of the vehicle.
• A Pittsburg, Kan., woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 1:02 p.m. Wednesday on 190th Street, a half-mile north of 540 Avenue in Crawford County, Kan., according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.
Cara M. Cobb, 47, driver of the vehicle, was taken by ambulance to Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg.
The department said Cobb lost control of her northbound vehicle, which struck a ditch, utility pole and fence.
• A Carthage woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday on Jasper County Road 165, four miles west of Carthage, the state patrol said.
Linda A. Williams, 60, driver of the vehicle, suffered moderate injuries. She was taken to Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage.
The patrol said the southbound vehicle ran off the road while swerving to miss a dog. The vehicle struck a utility pole.
