COLUMBUS, Kan. — The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department made arrests this week in a couple of burglary and theft cases in Scammon.
The sheriff’s office said Anthony Perry, 20, is being held at the Cherokee County Jail on charges of burglary and theft stemming from a vehicle break-in reported Sunday in Scammon. Perry’s bond is set at $10,000.
In the other case, a Scammon homeowner reported the theft of an all-terrain vehicle from his garage on Tuesday. Deputies located the vehicle and a suspect a short time later on a road nine miles east of Scammon and arrested Derrick Thompson, 23. He was charged with burglary, theft, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
