UPDATED: Photos released of Arvest bank robber

UPDATED, March 17, 2014, 3:26 p.m. — Police have released bank surveillance photos of a man who this morning robbed the Arvest Bank at 3201 McClelland Boulevard.

The man, believed to be in his mid-to-late 40s, enetered the bank and demanded cash from a teller. He had dark hair and a mustache and was wearing a blue and black jacket, dark-colored pants and sneakers.

The suispect left on foot in an unknown direction.

The FBi is assisting Joplin police in the investigation of the robbery.

A lone male robbed the Arvest Bank at 3201 McClelland Boulevard about 10:50 a.m. today, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Cpl. Chuck Niess of the Joplin Police Department said preliminary information was that the robber did not display a gun and no bank employees were harmed.

Niess did not have any information on whether the suspect left the area on foot or in a vehicle.
