Pittsburg man faces charge in beating case

PITTSBURG, Kan. — A suspect is in custody in connection with the beating Sunday night of a 54-year-old man at a home in Pittsburg.

Officers were called at 8:14 p.m. to a West Park Street address regarding a disturbance and found a man with a head injury. He was taken to Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg and later flown to an unspecified hospital. The name of the victim was not cited by police.

Police arrested Rocky E. Riley, 29, of Pittsburg, on Monday in their investigation of the incident. He was charged with aggravated battery and was being held at the Crawford County Jail in Girard.
