Beer, cigarettes taken in burglary at Joplin store

Someone kicked in the front door of the Fastrip convenience store at 2702 S. Main St. early Thursday and made off with beer and cigarettes, according to a Joplin police report.

A caller reported seeing a man trying to break into the business at 2:13 a.m., but he was nowhere to be found when officers arrived. Police Cpl. Chuck Niess said some cigarettes and two 18-packs of beer appeared to have been stolen.
