PITTSBURG, Kan. — A 33-year-old man has been charged in a nonfatal stabbing last week in downtown Pittsburg.
The Pittsburg Police Department announced Monday that Marquise L. Washington, 33, of Pittsburg, had been arrested in the stabbing Thursday night of Jason Rakestraw, of Girard, Kan.
Rakestraw sustained a severe knife wound to his throat during a fight with Washington in the 100 block of West Seventh Street after an argument at the Break Pool Hall, police said. The victim was treated at Via Christi Medical Center in Pittsburg for a cut 13 centimeters long to his throat, police said.
Washington was being held at the Crawford County Jail on a charge of aggravated battery.
