PITTSBURG, Kan. — A tip from a vigilant neighbor led to the arrest of a man early Monday on suspicion of trying to break into a home in Pittsburg.
The Pittsburg Police Department said David A. McClendon, 32, was taken into custody after a report at 2:37 a.m. of a burglary in progress in the 600 block of East 11th Street. Officers allegedly found McClendon with a pry bar and a flashlight in his possession on the front porch of the home.
McClendon was taken to the Crawford County Jail and charged with attempted burglary.
