Aurora resident hurt in accident west of Verona



A resident of Aurora was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 6:20 a.m. Friday on County Road 2210, three miles west of Verona in Lawrence County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Dewayne W. Jung, 48, was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, the patrol said.

Jung was driving an eastbound pickup truck that ran off the road, struck an embankment and overturned, the patrol said.

• A California woman suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 9:56 p.m. Thursday on Oak Ridge Drive outside Joplin in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Alana R. Litchie, 32, of Yucaipa, Calif., was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West, the state patrol said.

Litchie was driving a southbound car that skidded off the road, struck a tree and overturned, the patrol said.
