Neosho man hurt in accident

A Neosho man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 3:45 p.m. Thursday on Missouri Highway 86, four miles west of Neosho in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Ronald E. Van Buskirk, 66, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the state patrol said.

Van Buskirk was driving a westbound car that ran off the road and overturned when he suffered a medical condition, the patrol said.

• An Oklahoma woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 3:48 p.m. Wednesday on Route FF, three miles east of Joplin in Newton County, the state patrol said.

Tanisha McCarty, 27, of Inola, Okla., was taken to an unspecified hospital, the patrol said.

She was driving a westbound car that ran off the road and crashed through a fence, the patrol said.

• A Joplin man suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 9 a.m. Wednesday on Route J, three miles east of Diamond in Newton County, the state patrol said.

Dustin D. Atkins, 30, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

Atkins was driving a westbound pickup truck that ran off the road and struck a culvert when he fell asleep at the wheel, the patrol said.

• Two Webb City residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:22 p.m. Tuesday on Zora Street at Duquesne Road, according to a Joplin Police Department report.

The driver of one of the vehicles, Barbara S. McBride, 29, and her passenger, Michael S. McBride, 37, were taken to Freeman Hospital West, the police report said.

Their eastbound vehicle collided with a northbound vehicle driven by Jennifer L. Burton, 52, of Carl Junction, the report said.
