MIAMI, Okla. — Firefighters were treating as suspicious a fire early Monday morning that destroyed a vacant house in Miami.
The Miami Fire Department responded at 1:26 a.m. to a report of a fire in the 200 block of E Street Southwest and found a single-story house in flames. Fire Capt. Robert Wright said the roof at the back of the house had collapsed by the time firefighters arrived, and the house was destroyed.
No injuries were reported, Wright said.
He said the fire is believed to have started in the attic. The house was vacant and no utilities were activated, rendering the fire suspicious in origin, he said.
