JASPER, Mo. — Two teenagers have been arrested and charged with vandalizing three buses and a pickup truck belonging to the Jasper School District.
Joshua C. Nally and Jesse L. Marks, both 17 and students at Jasper High School, were taken into custody Monday morning after an investigation by Jasper County sheriff’s deputies. Both were charged with felony tampering with vehicles and misdemeanor stealing.
The teens are accused of spray-painting the stop signs, headlights and bumpers of the school buses with black paint. They also allegedly painted the hood, headlights, grille and rims of a pickup truck owned by the school district, and stole 10 extension cords from the district’s bus barn. The damage to the vehicles is estimated at $4,000, the sheriff’s office said.

Two plead guilty to post-tornado wire theft
Two defendants pleaded guilty Monday to stealing copper wire from utility poles in the wake of the May 22, 2011, tornado that struck Joplin. Timothy M. Silveria, 45, of Joplin, and Nycoa K.
