JAY, Okla. —
A Delaware County woman missing since Tuesday morning after dropping her children off for school has been found dead.
Krista Summerfield, 37, died Tuesday after leaving the school and driving to a vocational school in Kansas, Okla. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, her car failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway, went down a steep embankment and overturned in a ravine, striking a tree. Summerfield was ejected from the vehicle and was found a few feet from the vehicle, having died from massive injuries.
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday 5.2 miles south of Jay on U.S. Highway 59.
The vehicle was found at noon Wednesday.
