Mayor of Granby dies in accident in Lawrence County

A single-vehicle accident shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday claimed the life of Granby Mayor Ronald L. Arnall.

The accident occurred at 2:54 p.m., four miles north of Pierce City in Lawrence County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Arnall, 64, was southbound when his pickup truck ran off the road and struck a tree, the patrol’s report stated. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Scott Lakin, Lawrence County coroner.

Having been elected in April, Arnall was serving his first term as mayor of the Newton County town of Granby.

• Two Monett residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 10:30 a.m. Thursday on Missouri Highway 37, two miles south of Purdy in Barry County, the state patrol said.

The driver of the pickup truck, Margo M. Belisle, 49, and her passenger, Katherine M. Morgan, 14, were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Cassville, the patrol said.

The southbound truck ran off the road and overturned, the patrol said.

• A Cassville woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday on Farm Road 2192, three miles south of Cassville in Barry County, the state patrol said.

Cristan S. Crum, 24, was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, the patrol said.

Crum was driving an eastbound vehicle that ran off the road, and struck a tree and a fence, the patrol said.
