Grove man killed on Interstate accident

AFTON, Okla. — A 74-year-old Grove, Okla. man died from injuries sustained in a crash at 4:36 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 44, one mile east of Afton, Okla. in Ottawa County, according to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Jackie D. Williams was pronounced dead at Miami Baptist Hospital in Miami, Okla., the patrol said.

According to the crash report, Williams was traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-44 for approximately one mile, then struck the center barrier near mile marker 303. Officials say the crash is under investigation.
