NEOSHO, Mo. —
Five teens were charged Monday in connection with a burglary early Saturday at a Neosho business. Police said they were aided in making the arrests by information from an eyewitness.
Charged in Newton County Circuit Court with second-degree burglary in connection with the break-in at Smoke 4 Less at 1110 W. Harmony St. were Jacob Charlton, Hayden Childers and Austin Wyrick, all of Miami, Okla.; and Jacob Zeller and Austin B. Mitchell, both of Neosho. All are 17 years old.
An eyewitness called 911 and reported seeing teens breaking the front glass of the business. The eyewitness provided police with a vehicle description and a direction of travel.
Responding to the dispatch, Officer Rodney Howe soon located the vehicle. Howe maintained sight of the vehicle until Officer James Francis arrived to assist.
They stopped the vehicle at Neosho Boulevard and Hill Street, where they detained five suspects and located several items in the vehicle that are believed to have been taken from Smoke 4 Less.
All five suspects were later identified by the witness and were arrested, police said.
