Break-ins cited by businesses on Main Street

Police are investigating a break-in over the weekend at two adjoining businesses in downtown Joplin.

Cpl. Chuck Niess of the Joplin Police Department said someone pried open a door on the alley behind Instant Karma and Salon 529 in the 500 block of South Main Street between midnight and 8 a.m. Saturday and gained entry to both businesses.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken from cash registers in the restaurant and the salon.
