A warrant has been issued for the arrest of an Arkansas woman in the Oct. 9 robbery of a Fastrip convenience store in Joplin.
The Newton County prosecutor’s office on Monday filed a charge of first-degree robbery against Leeanna M. Crittendon, 24, of Harrison, in connection with a holdup of the Fastrip store at 3347 S. Range Line Road.
A woman entered the store wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a Halloween mask, displayed a knife, and demanded money from a clerk.
Minutes later, Joplin police stopped a Ford Taurus matching the description of car in the robbery near the Flying J truck stop on 32nd Street. The female driver was released after questioning, but her passenger, Crittendon, was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery. But Crittendon was released when 24 hours elapsed without a charge having been filed.
Police Lt. Brian Lewis said late Tuesday afternoon that the warrant had yet to be served on Crittendon. The warrant carries a $20,000 bond.
