Three motorists hurt in accidents on roads in area

A Joplin resident was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday on Norway Road, a mile west of Neosho in Newton County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Alex A. Cutbirth, 22, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

William G. McMahan, 22, of Neosho, was driving an eastbound pickup truck and attempting to pass Cutbirth’s eastbound box truck when their two vehicles collided as Cutbirth made a left turn, the patrol said.

• A Joplin man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 160, five miles east of Mindenmines in Barton County, the state patrol said.

Cary W. Hayward, 61, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

Hayward was driving an eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe that ran off the road and into a ditch, the patrol said.

• A Neosho man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday on Route HH, six miles east of Neosho in Newton County, according to the highway patrol.

Adam L. Tanner, 22, was taken to Freeman Hospital West, the state patrol said.

Tanner was driving a westbound vehicle that ran off the road, struck a ditch and overturned, the patrol said.
