Cold-case probe in 1984 slaying results in arrest

JOPLIN, Mo. — A cold-case investigation by Joplin police in the 1984 murder of a  local woman paid off on Friday with the arrest of the suspect in San Diego, Calif.

FBI agents arrested Paul A Moses, 64, according to a Joplin police statement.  

A warrant for Moses had been on the books since shortly after the murder of Frances Ramsey, 61, who lived on Main Street in Joplin.

Moses is being held in San Diego pending extradition proceedings to bring him to Missouri, authorities said Friday night.
