Two charged in drug cases after traffic stops

— Two traffic stops conducted by Joplin police on Thursday resulted in felony drug possession charges.

An officer stopped a vehicle for expired tags near 26th Street and Sergeant Avenue and allegedly found a small amount of methamphetamine on the front passenger seat during a consent search of the vehicle. The driver, Becky J. Bolton, 43, of Goodman, was arrested and charged with felony possession.

A Jasper County Drug Task Force member reportedly spotted a suspect with an outstanding federal warrant inside a vehicle parked near 20th Street and Joplin Avenue, and had a patrol officer make the arrest.

Some methamphetamine allegedly was discovered on the person of William M. Wagner, 43, of Joplin, subsequent to arrest, and he was charged with felony possession in addition to having the federal warrant and some city warrants served on him.
