Fire destroys garage, two vehicles inside

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. — A Tuesday night fire that destroyed a garage and two vehicles at an address south of Carl Junction may have had an electrical cause.

The Carl Junction Fire Department answered a call at 7:41 p.m. reporting a fire at on North Mission Lane and found a detached garage on the property owned by Roger Salvage in flames.

Firefighter Russell Downs said the fire destroyed the garage and two vehicles inside before it could be extinguished, but no injuries were reported. Downs said although investigators remained uncertain Wednesday as to the cause of the fire, they believe that it may have been related to a power cord plugged into an outlet in the garage.
