Three injured in traffic accidents on roads in area

Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday on Kings Road, six miles south Rocky Comfort in McDonald County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The driver of the motorcycle, Arthur D. Faulkenbury, 63, and his passenger, Eva M. Faulkenbury, 67, both of Bentonville, Ark., were flown by medical helicopter to Northwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Bentonville, the state patrol said.

The southbound motorcycle ran off the road and overturned, the patrol said.

• An 18-year-old woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 7:40 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Range Line and Newman roads, according to a Joplin Police Department report.

Tristan N. Mersman, of Joplin, was taken to an unspecified hospital in Joplin, the report said.

Mersman was a passenger in an eastbound pickup truck driven by Shane A. Purdham, 21, of Joplin, that was struck in the rear by an eastbound car driven by Elsie L. Crumb, 59, of Joplin, as Purdham was stopped and waiting to turn south onto Range Line Road, the report said.
