MIAMI, Okla. — Closing arguments were made this morning in the trial of Dustin Boggs, 25, of Miami, Okla. He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his former fiancee, Danyel Borden, 21.

A jury of nine women and three men began deliberations about 10:45 a.m. today.

If the jury convicts Boggs in Borden’s death, they must then decide if he is to receive a life sentence, which would allow parole, or life without parole.

If Boggs receives a life sentence, he would be required to serve at least 38 years and three months before being eligible for parole.
