Man faces charge in assault case

A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with felony domestic assault following a disturbance Thursday night at 2028 S. Joplin Ave., according to the Joplin Police Department.

Cpl. Chuck Niess said Leeanna K. Atteberry, 31, told an officer that her boyfriend, Lonnie Miller, grabbed her by the throat and slammed her into a wall during an argument.

Atteberry did not require immediate medical attention, Niess said. Miller was taken into custody and charged with second-degree domestic assault.
