Joplin man's death being treated as suspicious

JOPLIN, Mo. — Police are investigating the death of a man inside his apartment on the west side of Joplin.

Lt. Brian Lewis of the Joplin Police Department said the death of a man in his 60s was discovered shortly before 10 a.m. in apartment B at 1832 W. 24th St. The name of the man was being withheld pending notification of family members.

"We're treating it as suspicious right now," Lewis said.

The deceased man's apartment is in the Bartlett Hills complex of the Housing Authority of Joplin.
