Several motorists hurt in accidents on roads in area



An Austin, Texas, man was injured in a motorcycle accident at 2 p.m. Saturday on state Highway 90, three miles west of Washburn in Barry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Gary C. Love, 61, was taken by medical helicopter to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield with serious injuries, the patrol said.

The patrol said Love’s eastbound motorcycle ran off the road and overturned.

• A Neosho man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 9:35 p.m. Friday on Route V, three miles west of Diamond in Newton County, according to the patrol.

Kevin J. McIntosh, 29, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin with minor injuries, the patrol said.

The patrol said McIntosh’s eastbound vehicle ran off the road, ran into a ditch and overturned.

• A Peculiar man was injured in a motorcycle accident at 4:25 p.m. Friday on state Highway 86, five miles south of Cassville in Barry County, according to the state patrol.

Jeffrey F. Long, 45, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Cassville with moderate injuries, the patrol said.

The patrol said Long’s southbound motorcycle ran off the road, overturned and hit a sign.

• A Joplin woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 3:45 p.m. Friday on Route B, just west of Sheldon in Vernon County, according to the patrol.

Pamala J. Carrier, 59, was taken by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, the patrol said.

The other driver, Jacob D. Burns, 17, of Lamar, was not injured, the patrol said.

The patrol said Burns’ northbound vehicle was attempting a U-turn and hit Carrier’s westbound vehicle.

• Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 2:35 p.m. Friday on state Highway 37, 11⁄2 miles east of Pierce City in Lawrence County, according to the patrol.

Tracy D. O’Hara, 37, and Colten J. O’Hara, 11, both of Pierce City, were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Joplin with minor to moderate injuries, the patrol said.

Lynn M. McClure, 59, of Monett, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital in Joplin with serious injuries, the patrol said.

The patrol said McClure’s eastbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck O’Hara’s westbound vehicle head-on.
