Joplin police investigate armed robbery

JOPLIN, Mo. — Joplin police this morning are investigating an armed robbery at the Spirit 66 Food Mart at 703 W. 7th St.

According to police, a black male subject wearing a black hoodie with a University of Missouri logo on it and blue pants turned inside out and a ski mask entered the store and pointed a handgun at the clerk, demanding money.

The suspect appeared to have gotten panicked by something and fled the scene without taking anything.

The investigation continues.
