JOPLIN, Mo. —
A Joplin woman was taken for medical treatment from a house fire reported at 6:57 a.m. today at 732 S. Empire Ave.
Firefighters, on the scene for two hours, confined the blaze to a box fan and mattress.
The house is rented by Theo Catlin and owned by Bob Baldwin, according to a news release from the Joplin Fire Department. There were eight people in the house when the fire broke out.
The fire department did not release the name of the woman who was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
