90-year-old man found after walking away from center

A 90-year-old man, who was reported missing Wednesday morning from the Silver Creek Assisted Living Center, 3325 S. Texas Ave., was found Wednesday afternoon at Glendale Road and South Jackson Avenue.

Police said the man appeared to be in good condition when he was found, but he was taken to a local hospital to be checked out. He has dementia and hypertension, authorities said.

Police said the man, who uses a cane, had received a ride from someone to get from the area of the center to Glendale and Jackson, which is near Shoal Creek.

He was reported missing at 11:50 a.m. He was found about 3:30 p.m.

A command post was established in the area of the center.

Police, fire and emergency medical crews searched the area for him.
