Attic fire destroys house in Loma Linda; no injuries cited

A fire that started in the attic destroyed a house Tuesday in Loma Linda.

A spokesman for the Redings Mill Fire Department said firefighters were dispatched at 4:56 p.m. to the residence of the Mike Kelly family on Willow Lane.

The fire had been burning for some time and had burned through the roof before firefighters arrived, the spokesman said.

No one was at home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Redings Mill dispatched five trucks and 15 people. Also responding were units from Neosho, Joplin and Carl Junction, and from Galena, Kan.
