Joplin man faces drug charge after car check

A police check on a suspicious vehicle Thursday night behind a restaurant on West Seventh Street in Joplin led to the arrest of three men on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine.

Cpl. Chuck Niess said when an officer checked out the occupants of a vehicle in a parking lot in the 1800 block, a police dog’s alert on a metal can inside the vehicle led to alleged discovery of a bag of methamphetamine, Niess said.

Two of the three suspects eventually were released without charges. Michael E. Sisson II, 43, of Joplin, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.
