Accident near Carthage claims two lives Wednesday night

JOPLIN, Mo. — A 48-year-old Joplin woman, Julie G. Cartwright, died in a two-car accident at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday on Route HH and County Road 175, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.

The driver of the second vehicle, Brandon Stuckey, 22, of Belleville, Ill., also was killed.

An infant in Cartwright’s car, Hayven Cartwright, was uninjured and has been turned over to relatives.

According to the patrol, the accident happened when Stuckey’s car crossed over the center line and hit Cartwright’s vehicle head-on.

Both drivers died at the scene.
