Police say man spotted stealing

A man was charged with felony stealing after members of Forest Park Baptist Church in Joplin reportedly noticed him breaking into a vehicle Sunday morning in the church parking lot.

Police Cpl. Chuck Niess said church members caught Joshua L. Mohler, 23, allegedly going through a vehicle in the lot at 725 S. Highview Ave. about 9:45 a.m. and called police. A handgun taken from the vehicle reportedly was recovered from Mohler’s waistband, Niess said.
