Vehicle strikes EaglePicher building; driver sought

Joplin police have been looking for the errant driver of a Chevrolet Lumina that struck a building owned by EaglePicher Technologies.

The Lumina struck a building on the east side of the intersection of C Street and Porter Avenue shortly after 9 a.m., and the driver fled the scene, according to Joplin police spokesman Michael Gayman. Gayman said the owner of the Lumina has been contacted and is not believed to have been driving it at the time. He said police were still looking Friday for the suspected driver.
