Woman tells police of being raped; no arrest so far

Joplin police are investigating a reported rape late Friday or early Saturday at a residence on the northwest side of the city.

Lt. Charla Geller said a 28-year-old woman reported that she was sexually assaulted by a man who gave her a ride home from a bar. The woman had a rape kit conducted at Mercy Hospital after the assault.

The case remained under investigation Monday without an arrest having been made, Geller said.
