Two suspects in drug case now in jail

NEVADA, Mo. — Two suspects who were sought on charges related to a recent drug raid are now in custody at the Vernon County Jail in Nevada.

Sheriff Jason Mosher said James C. Sorden, 39, and Christy D. Sorden, 30, had been sought since the Community Narcotics Enforcement Team drug task force and Nevada police served a search warrant in March at their residence on Oak Street in Nevada and reportedly seized an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine and evidence that a meth lab had been in operation there.

Christy Sorden was arrested in Branson recently and was taken to the jail in Nevada on Tuesday, the sheriff said. He said a sheriff’s deputy and a Nevada police officer located and arrested James Sorden Tuesday night in Nevada.

The Sordens are charged with possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a public nuisance.
