Police suspect gunman robbed two Subways

JOPLIN, Mo. — Police believe that the gunman who robbed a Subway restaurant in Joplin on Sunday night had robbed another Subway in Nixa on Friday night.

“They (Nixa police) have got some video surveillance and it looks to be the same fellow,” said Lt. Matt Stewart, with the Joplin Police Department, on Tuesday.

Stewart said the gunmen in the two robberies appears to be wearing the same dark-colored cap and jacket. He also used similar bags to carry the money out of the stores, he said.

The robbery of the Subway at 1820 W. 32nd St. took place shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday.
