PITTSBURG, Kan. — A fire Monday night caused extensive damage to a residence near Pittsburg, but no injuries were reported, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.
The Baker Township and Pittsburg fire departments responded at 9:40 p.m. to a report of a fire in the 2300 block of East Fourth Street. Firefighters battled a blaze that appeared to have started in the living room of the home of Zac Sprenkle and Jessica Smith.
The sheriff’s office said in a news release that the occupants had left the house for a while and found it on fire when they returned. The cause of the fire remained undetermined on Tuesday.
